André Baldinger
Graphic designer, typographer
 and type designer

André Baldinger is a Swiss graphic designer and typographer. In 1992, after finishing his studies in Zurich, he moved to Paris, where he spent two years studying at the Atelier Nationale de la Création Typographique (ANCT). 
In 1995, he opened his own studio, where he mostly works on projects related to the cultural sphere and its institutions, as well as alternative projects, stage sets and three-dimensional works. 
A creator of new characters, he is responsible for the conception of Newut, the BDot and BLine, the BaldingerPro and a whole series of specific characters, including a character for the Eiffel Tower signage project.

Awarded a fellowship from the French State and the Swiss Confederation, his works are regularly published, exhibited and awarded. 
In 2005, the Swiss National Bank invited him to take part in the competition for the design of the new Swiss banknotes. From 1995-2003 he has taught at l’écal (University of art and design Lausanne), 2003-2006 at the HKB (Berne University of Arts) and from 2001-2005 at the ANRT in Nancy. Since 2006 teaches typography and visual communications at ENSAD in Paris and, the creation of characters at Zhdk (Zurich University of the Arts) in Zurich.
 
He is since the year 2002 member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
Since 2008 he works for a growing number of projects under Baldinger•Vu-Huu together with associate Toan Vu-Huu.

Diseñador gráfico y tipógrafo

André Baldinger, diseñador gráfico y tipógrafo de nacionalidad suiza. Después de terminar sus estudios en Zurich se traslada a París en 1992 donde pasa dos años estudiando en el Atélier Nationale de la Création Typographique (ANCT).
En 1995, monta su propio taller, donde desarrolla tareas relacionadas principalmente con el sector cultural y sus instituciones, sin descartar proyectos alternativos, escenografías teatrales y proyectos tridimensionales. Creador de nuevos caracteres tipográficos, a él se debe la concepción del Newut, el AB BDot, AB BLine, el AB BaldingerPro y toda una serie de caracteres específicos, así como un carácter tipográfico para el proyecto de señalética de la Torre Eiffel.
Distinguido con una beca del Estado francés y otra de la Confederación suiza, sus trabajos son regularmente publicados, expuestos y galardonados. En 2005, la Banque Nationale Suisse lo invita a participar del concurso para el diseño de los nuevos billetes de Suiza. Durante años ha ejercido la docencia en la l’écal (École cantonale d’art de Lausanne/CH), en el HKB (Escuela de arte de Berna/CH) y en el ANRT en Nancy/FR. Actualmente da clases de tipografía y comunicación visual en la ENSAD en París y de creación de caracteres en la Zhdk de Zurich/CH. Desde el año 2002 es miembro de la Alianza Gráfica Internacional (AGI).
